Mental Health Humor : Maniac Label 40% nuts 20% crazy 30% looney and 10% me
Labels serve a purpose - on food containers, packages, and cans. Sometimes they are trustworthy. Sometimes they are not. They give us a “quick” summary of the contents but you don’t know, without a doubt, what’s truly inside until you open the can. However, when it comes to people, please don’t label. A “quick” summary doesn’t do anyone true justice. You know the old adage - “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover” - should be applied. Especially, when meeting or seeing someone for the first time. We need to take the time to show personal interest in someone. Getting to know them beyond their “surface” outer cover. Although, we can admit - some book titles - may grasp our attention or seem like a “good” read but how do we know for sure without taking the time to “OPEN” the book and start reading?! We honestly can’t judge the book nor recommend it, until we have finished all the many pages. We are all books, we are all different, and we all want to be a best seller! We all have the potential to be if given the chance. The golden rule comes in handy too - “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” Nobody wants to be mislabeled….everybody wants to be counted worthy of respect and understood, appreciated for who they truly are! May be that “grumpy” neighbor just lost his job and has no idea what to do. May be that “disheveled” office worker lost a loved one in death. May be that “good looking” lady is really a serial killer….let’s hope not but you get my point. You just can’t judge what is going on inside a person from looking at their outside. May be I’ve been labeled “hamburger” when I’m REALLY “Filet Mignon”! So, just like you take the time to enjoy a good meal, let’s take the time to get to know one another - Bon Appetit!
