Mental Health Humor: Good Bye Jim “Streaky” Willingham 1957 - 2008
Today was a very difficult day for me. I Have been so caught up in my on recovery these last few months I lost touch with some important people in my life. It is said if you can count all your friends on one hand then you’re a lucky person… Well, today I found out I lost one of them. While I was getting back on my feet, he was fighting for his life. He died April 10, 2008. I was still getting regulated on my meds and still not out of the woods myself. But, I was so self- consumed I did not call or talk to many people. When I started blogging in May, that was the first real contact, I had with the outside world… Till then and even now, I only leave my back room when I have no choice.
I am not cured. I’m just finding my footing on reality again. I feel like I have lost 3 years of my life! It has been a blur with some real special moments. One of them was getting to get together with my friend last year. He drove 200 miles out of his way just so we could hang out for an hour. That was when he gave me his hat and I gave him a custom cartoon.
My friend held a fun record as being the fastest window cleaner in the U.S.A and held that record for a number of years. This was a cartoon I did for him.
