Free Mental Health Humor : Work In Progress

Free Mental Health Humor : Work In Progress -

What is it with me? Every time I seem to make some head way I feel like I end up loosing it all. It’s like I take two steps forward then have to take three steps back. I get upset at people who seem to “have it all together”. I know we are all a “work in progress” but what is my end goal. I have taken a big leap out in front of the cross hairs of prejudgment and stigma. I’m making a stand for mental health and educating people while putting a face to the disorders. Yes, true, my stand is with cartoons and commentary about the plague of mental illness. And to date, I have had more positive feed back and encouragement that I would have never expected. The truth is, the cartoons are making a difference in many peoples lives… Granted it’s a small difference, but it is that one smile or giggle that I’m aiming for.

Yet the down side is that more of my personal friends and business associates are now aware of my “ISSUE”. I have lost some work over it already… Really I mean, who wants to let the “crazy” guy write for them or who wants to let that “nut job” work here… That is just the stigma and discrimination that goes with the territory.

But I feel no matter what, if we work at something that we truly believe in than good things will happen. This blog has been such a great therapy for me. But, it’s not about me anymore, it slowly becoming important to others to get their Mental Health Cartoon for the day. I only hope I can live up to that and keep providing you with a moment of joy or laughter or just to make you think and say… hmmm, that was a stupid cartoon!

That’s my job! It’s like today’s cartoon. I drew it back in 1999. It’s a roll of toilet paper talking to a window squeegee but I still love it… because even if our job seems a little dull, or unrewarding at times… at least, it’s better than being toilet paper.
Stay safe and stay healthy and try to get some sleep…

    That cartoon was awesome! LMAO!

I’m sorry that there are repercussions to coming ‘out’ with your issues. I very well understand about the stigma attached to things that the general public just doesn’t understand. Hang in there and keep doing what you’re doing.
