Mental Health Humor: Mid-Night Insanity - Slide Show

Mental Health Humor cartoons jokes chato b stewart

Mental Health Humor:
Hello every one! I hope your long week-end is going well… Please be safe and watch them little ones around the water or pool. I had such a great week in the Recovery Peer Training and I hope to be able to work with it. I still have a few more hoops to jump but I am on my way. I have my 1000 hours that is required. Well, I have a lot more than 1000 hours over the last 5 years but most of my volunteering was for my own group that I had to start and run, but The DBSA was able to back me up and all my years of hard work will be able to be counted. Then there are all the trainings, I took with NAMI and other classes that I can count and the volunteering at the drop-in center and a number of other places. It is funny, I never knew how much experience and time I have put into my personal mental health advocacy until I had to sit down and write it all down for the peer recovery training. It actually looks like a real resume… Now I only have to figure out how I’m going to get the $200.00 I’m going to need so I can get my school records, fee for the certification, and a few other little things that I need. The good news is I have 60 days to get that money. So, I’m sure something will work out… I have not worked for a few months now and we are down to our last pennies…

Hey, maybe I will win this month Viewer’s Choice Award… LOL The winner gets a cash bonus… If the judges are reading this, let me just say, what a great job you do at TODAY.com, and what great people you are, what straight teeth you have… Is that too much? Oh Well…

Also we will be hitting a mile-stone with the 80 Mental Health Humor Cartoons being web-published. I already have the next 10 in the works and soon we will have 100 cartoons… I was thinking of maybe looking into making a calendar or a coffee table booklet of them… What do you think?

I tried to make a slide show with flickr I hope it works for you. I’m having a problem with posting it but here is the link to it.

Mental Health Humor: Mid-Night Insanity - You Can’t Spill, no I mean SPELL
I just wanted to say I’m sorry to my readers for the lack of proper editing and the many grammatical errors this week. We have been staying at a hotel that has limited internet access. Some times it would not let me log on to my Admin page and other times it would. Some times it would save the edited copy of my post and well, other times, it did not. So, I just wanted to say I’m sorry for to all you nitpickers and typo finders that had your hands full reading the blog this week. I know how important spelling and proper English is when blogging, and hey, I’m sure you would like to know what the heck I was trying to say when I wrote it. I also respect the fact that you are taking your time to come here and read my blog and you deserve to at least be able to read it with out having to say … what does that mean or what is he trying to spell???

Please for give me, and I want to make sure to tell you that all the errors you typo hounds found belong to me and me alone. If you see a post with out a typo or missed spelled word, well that is due to the hard work of my well-educated and loving wife who has 3 decoder rings and special decrypting software just to try and make sense of what it is I am really trying to write.

Now I could just say hey, this is me, I live with dyslexia and spelling and grammar is what it is… But, no, why should I make you all suffer when I can have my wife edit it right!

Still, there will be naysayers, people who need to point out my errors and others that may take one look at my post see the messed up spelling and grammar and leave… To them I say this… don’t let the fact that I can’t spell change your view of the message I am working hard to pass along. Mental health and recovery is important and humor and laughter can help with coping with these serious disorders … So, please remember even a dirty diamond is still diamond and is none the less valuable.

That being said… Here is today’s cartoon. This cartoon is about who should you tell when you have a mental disorder?

Mental Health Humor: Friday Fun - Last Day Vacation

Published by chatobstewart under Special Post Edit This

Mental Health Humor: Friday Fun - Last Day Vacation

Hey everyone! How was your week? Looking forward to the week-end? Well, it’s Friday! Hope you enjoy some Friday Fun! It’s the last day of my training. It’s crunch time to finish off some things. My wife is busy with the kids and getting us packed up to head back home later tonight! I’ve learned and hopefully grown in many ways through this added education. I hope what I have learned will be able me to help others. That’s what brings true happiness in life - helping others and looking out for others and not just yourself. In the process of helping others you are indeed benefitting yourself as well. But I’m sure you would agree, it’s good not to be too self-absorbed but to consider others and their needs, too. That’s why this training is so worthwhile to me because now I feel like I have added tools at my disposal to enable me to better help my fellow man or woman. I hope in the next coming blogs to share some of the things I’ve learned. Hopefully this information will help you like it has helped me. I will be posting a cartoon in little while. My time is somewhat limited right now due to circumstances. But before long - I’ll be back on track with our weekly format here and will be updating you on some interesting things soon! So, Thanks for your loyal readership and comments! Hang in there everyone - You can do it! Wishing You all a Wonderful Week-end. Be sure to laugh and have some Friday Fun!

Mental Health Humor: Duck, Duck, Goose! and Recovery Peer Specialist info

Mental Health Humor cartoons jokes chato b stewart

Mental Health Humor: Duck, Duck, Goose!

Well, we are now done with four days of training for being a Recovery Peer Specialist(RPS). I can tell it is by far the most intense training I have been involved with in a long time and the most specific! Other classes have been about facilitating groups and dealing with general disorders. This training focused more on covering the disorder and educating about different illnesses. Some were about mentoring and holding classes and covering mental health material on skills to cope. And then one course was just for me and helped me find skills to deal with my own disorder.

Recovery Peer Specialists are all of these in one and much, much more! We are really there to advocate for your needs and wants. We become the voice for those that don’t have one. When people are getting mental health services sometimes they need a louder voice. Here’s another chance for me to put my “loud” mouth to good use. Our main goal and belief is that recovery IS POSSIBLE! That means even for those that society has even written off. We work with people who want to have a better life. We help them find goals and plans that will help and enable them reach their fullest potential.

I feel so lucky to be part of the peer specialist movement. Here in Florida, it is just starting and is recognized as an evidence based program. What that means is I will soon have a job working with providers to help my fellow peers. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me feel. I only hope, I am up to the task! I believe I can do it! NO, I know I can and I will help those whose voice has gone unanswered.
