Mental Health Humor’s News and Update: Peer Training, Poem, and Getting Tagged

You know, I just want to touch on a few quick subjects before I post this week’s review. I have a few announcements and a couple updates.

For any one Living in FLORIDA and wants to get in on the Recovery Peer Specialist Training you must read this.

NEW: The Florida Peer Network is delighted to announce that we will be hosting two 5 day trainings for people interested in becoming Certified Recovery Peer Specialists. The training will take place on August 11-15 in Tallahassee and August 25-29 in Tampa. The training will be free to qualified individuals and scholarships for travel, lodging, and per diem will be available.

Visit the Certified Peer Specialist page for full details!

I should be at the Tampa training and I hope to see you there, too. P. S. If you’re in Florida please pass on this information.

This week I also participated in a co-op poem that people submit a poem that follows a few rules then the sponsor takes lines from your poem and mixes it with all the other entries to form a new poem. This subject was: Beach… LOL I colored all my lines in red… :)

The Desperate Need to Be Gone

Today and Tomorrow it is to the beach I go.

To walk along amongst sea creatures

On the beach to dance around

Cling to the past sandy trails.

Below in to you the sun fall.

Ever brisk as a breeze to my face.

Always there to sea and shore.

Halcyon days to calm the ocean.

Torrid asphalt no gas to beach

To stare at futility across water

——- Lastly, I got tagged so, even though I’m not a big fan of this type of game I will post it here to be a good sport.

Now chain letters are plain stupid to me, but in the blogosphere they are an easy way to get links on blogs and a way to add a bit of fun… You are not forced to do anything, nor do you have to keep the chain going. I’m just doing it like I said to be a good sport, and since the poem is kind of like this, I would feel hypocritical not to do it so here goes.

Here are the rules:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Here are my six quirks.

1. I have a fear of balloons and draw bridges.

2. I hate using a bathroom when the floor is wet.

3. When I am thinking, I tilt my head to the left… good thing I don’t do it much then I would have neck problems.

4. If I have no idea what your saying, I just keep saying “ya, yes , yep”

5. I can sit an play video games for days at a time…

6. I cry like a school girl at the end of Saving Private Ryan, every time!
