Mental Health Humor: Ask Dr. Bob Bob, Unqualified PsycotherapistToday’s post I am writing from the hotel. How nice to get away. I’m sure you feel the same way…a much needed “working” vacation or “studying” vacation. This system, unfortunately, won’t let me add images so I will have to fix it later. Today was the first day of peer specialist training and I have to tell you it was quite a day. I met a lot of nice people! Our class is about 25 consumers, or like our instructer says, 25 people living with a disorder… Key words.. “LIVING WITH”… But it makes sense when you think about it… By saying “I AM” or “I HAVE” bipolar makes us loose control of our disorder, but when I say, I’m living with bipolar disorder that phrase has a much stronger meaning.
We talked about the importance of Peer-Specialist services and how it can help the provider to help people living with mental illness.
There is a ton more I will share but right now, the kids want to jump in the pool….and so do I! Hey, hope you get to do some swimming too if you like swimming. We love swimming.
