Mental Health Humor: Genetic Research for the bipolar gene and funny bone genome -

“U.S. researchers have come out and stated that they believe that two abnormal genes may act as a cause of bipolar disorder.

Researchers have been working on the largest-ever genetic analysis into bipolar disorder, to try and see what causes of the disorder may be.

They have found that a variation in two genes may be the cause of the disorder.

It is believed that current drugs to treat the disease target these genes, which balance both sodium and calcium in the brain.” - (unconfirmed source)

Now correct me if I’m wrong but sodium is a rock… i.e. Rock Salt, and calcium is a mineral that can form into small rock like pebbles… So am I understanding this right, that the Researchers believe the reason I am bipolar is because my brain is on the rocks.

In any case, research is helping to identify the possible why we may have the predisposition to these disorders. But I’m really not sure what major benefit knowing this will truly be other then to hopefully work on new medications. But I worry, if people believe there is a way to isolate the genome, they may take it one step more and work on removing it. Then where would be with out bipolar? Why don’t you tell me what you think… Our human history is filled with heroes that were considered bipolar. Would they have been so great if they weren’t considered eccentric or crazy?
