Mental Health Humor: Week-end Saturday Review  October 11th to 17th -

With every day when we get out of bed, comes new light, new changes and new struggles.  It is my sincere hope you are like me and just stay in bed and hope it will pass!  NO, that’s not right, but I’m sure some of you feel that way.  I know I do from time to time and this week has been a bit like that for me personally.  Still, I have hope and faith things will get better.

This week we touched on some very serious subjects from suicide to Poverty then capping it off with me having to move.  I think it was good. We got a number of great comments as you can see below and I really appreciated the personals e-mails many sent to encourage me!  See, this is a two way street, sometimes, I help you with a laugh or two and many times you help me with your encouraging and informative comments and e-mails…  But don’t get a big head about it, and I better not see an invoice for talk therapy…

Just a special thanks to Ken from www.ItTakesGutsToBeMe.com!

Oh, I hope you like the new look, it is basic but page loads a lot faster.

  1. chatobstewart mentalhealthhumor.today.com @pinkInk - Ya you would think that losing one life would make them look at safety issues. But I really like how Kath put it on her site http://www.suicidesurvivalguide.com : “we can’t stop building tall buildings, or bridges, or developing science because people may use these things to kill themselves with.”@Kath - first sorry for your losses, one suicide in a family is devastation… Three is just, well words can’t express it. I am so encourage after reading your site. You are are helping so many people and I sure your book will be successful.Oct 13, 5:34 PM — Mental Health Humor: Golden Gate Bridge’s Suicide Net -
  2. Kath  suicidesurvivalguide.com Thank you for also highlighting the ridiculous nature of this plan. I also commented on this. We can’t stop building tall buildings because people might jump off them. Let’s examine why people are jumping in the first place and put the money there.Oct 13, 4:58 PM  — Mental Health Humor: Golden Gate Bridge’s Suicide Net -
  3. pinkink anxiety.today.com Wow, it looks like the commmittee that issued the report I read minimized the number of suicides and possible suicide attempts that occur on the bridge each year!!!! I, too, think it’s about time they put a net there, and I CANNOT believe it took them so many years to do so, and I cannot believe that the officials were more worried about altering the design of the bridge than saving lives! You know anytime you need a friend, I am here. )Thank you for your sweet comments about my blog, by the way! I really love reading your blog, too!Sierra

  1. electricmousie  http:mentalhealthhumor.com I’m going to reply to this theme….I do see the humor in the cartoon because I tried the suicide route at least five (5) times..not by jumping the bridge but with drug overdoses….I know all too well what it feels like when all my hope for going on with life has completely gone and I’m ready to call it quits…..take enough pills to carry me on out for good (or worse?) I hope and pray I never NEVER feel that way again; it was horrible; I’m really lucky that I was rescued and pulled through and am still here today to laugh and joke (even at my expense) I feel I earned the right to poke fun at my illness and the experiences it has given me, both tragic and joyful)…I’d love to see a day when no one is so discouraged with life that they feel there’s only one way around it; by suicide. Suicide is NOT the answer……but unfortunately it will continue to be for those who have no hope for the future! It is my deepest prayer that a solution will be arrived at soon before too many valuable souls decide to leave this earth because of despair and hopelessness.Oct 14, 3:50 PM —  Mental Health Humor: Ask Dr. Bob Bob, Golden Gate Bridge, Suicide Net

Keep on saying it like it is! I know many people who have to live on the street because of untreated mental illness; it is like living in Hell…I thank God every day that I have a home to call my own, and that I’m being treated for my illness.I realize how quickly one can have life turned totally upside down and find themselves out on the street.

Chato,

It’s funny that you blogged about this because I work in property management and I have bipolar II (as you may already know). I have moved five times in the last 3 years. This is mostly due to falling out with roommates, but this definitely has to do with my mental health. I also see alot of people that end up in the hospital and it takes them MONTHS to come back from it. I was also in the hospital at the end of February into early March. It’s tough and it cannot be avoided sometimes.

I wish you the best of luck and I send my prayers.

Good luck Chato. I lost it all twice myself. I know just what you mean. But I think, regardless of your episodes, you are still stronger than I was back then.

You put too much good into the world to not have it come back to you in some helpful way. Keep doing your best while keeping an eye out for potential forms of help. It doesn’t always look like you think it should.
