Mental Health Humor and Cartoons

Mental Health affect us all! The way we handle it effects our lives to the point it makes us want to live or die.  When we think about it, you will realize in one way or another, mental disorder has to have some humor to it.  We who live every day with the many different types of so-called “illnesses” are people too… In fact, we are people first!  So, we do have a sense of humor and tapping into it is very healthy.  It is important to laugh, not about our psychological condition.  No, but the humorous situation that some times puts us in. 

This past year we have talked about me a lot. I don’t mind and I’ll continue to do it but, now it’s your turn… I want you to contact me with some of your stories… What do you find funny? Let’s see what this blog can do.

If there is one cartoon which really signifies the goals and mission of Mental Health humor , it would be this Peer to Peer Support cartoon.  It has been used in more Organizations’ newsletters than any other cartoon.  It is published in a few educational books and was even used with a lecture for a national Mental Health Organization.
