A Mental Health Day, For Mental Health Humor

Today I went to a class to learn how to draw caricatures.  It was at an arts and craft store, some 25 miles away.  The class is weekly for $20.00 and taught by a young artist that worked at  Disney drawing  kids for them for the last few years.  He is very good and the idea of the class is to be able to makes some money doing caricatures at local events and parties.  The idea is a good one.  It’s just spending the $80.00 a month that is hard…  Up till this week, we could not even pay for our basic needs.  So, I will have to see if I have what it takes to see this one through…  If I can get the basics down it would be a great gag to do at the many mental health expos around the state…

In fact, there is a huge one this weekend that Patty Duke will be speaking at in Sarasota, Fl.

You know I was just thinking, this is my very first art class I’ve ever been in… other than 20 years ago in high school… Now I’m sure you would like to see my caricature right?  Well here he is… it was too big to scan all at once so I have to cut and paste him…  Do you know who he is? He lives with a neurological disorder, too.

Is it that bad that you can see who it is?

O.k…. Still Don’t know?  Well here is the PEOPLE Magazine cover he gave me to draw.

It was fitting that I had to draw Michael J. Fox my first time out…
