Title:

Some Times You Can Go Home Again.

We just had a friend visit from up north.  It was great to be with him, since he is family and living so far away we don’t get to see them all that much.  He knows about my “issues” and he deals with OCD so it was nice talking to some one that does not judge.  Although is has a more cynical view on life and, well the mood can be advantageous for some like myself.  We made the best of it any way and I did a caricature while we had a sing-long with the kids as he played the guitar…  Oh, he is a musician and has a great gig weekly up in Boston.

It got me thinking about family again…  I miss my Mother, a son is allow to feel this way… But can I go home again?

Because of your encouragement, Chato, I started drawing again yesterday and went to a pottery class last night. Real pottery from scratch and on a wheel.I had to physically get my hands and body into the activity. Kneading the clay and then creating something was cathartic.

I felt good while there. It was a first class, so I was naturally a little apprehensive …and I forced myself to go alone, on purpose, which was A HUGE step for me. But I loved it. I also made contacts for another class so I can go twice a week. I believe artists who don’t do art, become crazy, ill, sick, whatever you want to call it, it ain’t right!

Sooooo…keep doing art! Art heals the mind…even for the moment, the relief is profound. Keep on. Don’t quit.
